Credentials and Experience
I am a Licensed Midwife in Louisiana (LM) and a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM).
What does this mean? It means I am licensed by the Louisiana Medical Board and hold national certification through NARM (North American Registry of Midwives).
NRP, CRP, MA
I am trained and certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR and am a medical assistant (MA). This means I have extra experience in providing you comfortable blood draws and IVs, if needed.
In 2005 I moved my family to the pacific northwest to attend the Birthingway College of Midwifery in Portland, Oregon. I graduated in 2008.
To gain greater experience in water birth I supported 60 birthing families at the Andaluz Waterbirth Center in 2010. This was an incredible experience and I am grateful for my mentors and the families I cared for.
Mother of four
While my own birth experiences do not qualify me as a midwife, they have impacted me as a midwife. My first son was born at University Hospital in New Orleans and my second son was born at home. My first daughter was a very fast home birth. My youngest was born during my career as a midwife and I was cared for by midwives.
